What's on

Church Ministries

Did you ever talk to God above?
Tell Him that you need a friend to love.
Pray in Jesus' name believing
that God answers prayer.
Have you told Him all your cares and woes?
Ev'ry tiny little fear He knows.
You can know He'll always hear
And He will answer prayer.

You can whisper in a crowd to Him.
You can cry when you're alone to Him.
You don't have to pray out loud to Him;
He knows your thoughts.

On a lofty mountain peak, He's there.
In a meadow by a stream, He's there.
Anywhere on earth you go,
He's been there from the start.
Find the answer in His word; it's true'
You'll be strong because He walks with you.
By His faithfulness He'll change you, too.
God answers prayer.

Refreshed

Hopefully each one may have benefited from the summer break from the regular routine even if the weather may not always have been to our liking.

There is a Proverb, chapter 11 verse 25, “he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed”. That reminds us that when we are involved in the work of the Lord and busy in preparation we will be blessed as well as those whom we minister to. So for all who are involved once again serving in the various activities in Bethany be prepared but be encouraged in all you do.

Camp Correspondent

Camp 2009 got underway in July with Douglas Young as the speaker. Douglas told many stories including Creation and Noah, while some leaders gave their testimonies, which was well received by the campers.

Campers enjoyed many morning activities including swimming, dancing, football and crafts. Whittaugh Park offered mountain biking, archery, kayaking and many more activities for the afternoon. While the evening activities included team games and a circus party on the last night.

Prayers were answered with many campers responding and being challenged by the word of God. We thank you for your prayers and support for this years camp including the home baking that was enjoyed by all campers and leaders.

Tribute

We learned with sadness in July of the passing of our sister Irene McCaig after her time of illness that she endured with courage and dignity. She will be greatly missed here in Bethany where she served the Lord Jesus for many years involved in many of the activities of the assembly. We remember Robert and the family at this time of loss. The words on the front cover of the Update were precious to Irene and an inspiration to each one of us to believe in the God who answers prayer.
