What's on

Church Ministries

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus blood and righteousness
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly trust in Jesus name

Christ alone; cornerstone
Weak made strong; in the Saviour's love
Through the storm, He is Lord
Lord of all

When Darkness seems to hide His face
I rest on His unchanging grace
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil
My anchor holds within the veil

Christ alone; cornerstone
Weak made strong; in the Saviour's love
Through the storm, He is Lord
Lord of all
He is Lord
Lord of all

Edward Mote

Christ Jesus Himself as the chief cornerstone.

Ephesians 2:20

No one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid,
which is Jesus Christ

1 Corinthians 3:11

He is "the stone you builders rejected which has become the cornerstone"

Acts 4:11

Cornerstone

Every building needs firm foundations built on something secure with the cornerstone being the crucial point. So it is in the Christian faith where the Lord Jesus Christ is the cornerstone. Our lives are built on the precious blood of our Saviour who died for our sins and it is through Him that we are called the righteousness of God. The scriptures teach us the there is only one way of salvation that is found only in the name of Jesus. This is the gospel that we proclaim that we long to see make an impact in the lives of people we meet and in the nations of the world. It is always encouraging to learn of people who have come to faith in Christ making Him the cornerstone of their life. May we be strengthened in Gods' wonderful grace remaining faithful in our testimony and witness for the Lord Jesus.

Interlink

Last month we looked at the work of Interlink at our March Mission Focus. We learned about the organisation and the many missionaries from around the world they support. We also reflected on the Interlink Missionary Weekend with those who attended.

Interlink's Youth Night was held at Greenock with 8 from aqua attending. It was a challenging evening, with talks from missionaries as well as thoughts from local Christians. The Missionary Day at Hamilton had reports from Ireland and Ethiopia and it was encouraging to hear of the work being done and the many people hearing the Gospel. .

Allan and Anne Kitt

They would both appreciate prayer for a teenager who was recently restored to the Lord. He has been witnessing to fellow students since he returned to the Lord last summer, and has recently asked to be baptised. Allan has spent several hours in individual Bible study with him. Pray that the Lord will continue to work in his life and make him a blessing. In addition, pray for the setting up of a web site for the assembly. Pray that they will find someone who has the necessary skills to put the website in place, so that those who are new to the city have easy access to information about the church.

Renfrew Report

  • Pray for the weekly work in the schools.
  • Pray for the annual schools' art competition in May.
