What's on

Church Ministries

Oh to see the dawn
Of the darkest day
Christ on the road to Calvary
Tried by sinful men
Torn and beaten then
Nailed to a cross of wood

This the power of the cross
Christ became sin for us
Took the blame, bore the wrath
We stand forgiven at the cross

Oh to see the pain
Written on Your face
Bearing the awesome weight of sin
Every bitter thought
Every evil deed
Crowning Your bloodstained brow

Now the daylight flees
Now the ground beneath
Quakes as it's Maker bows His head
Curtain torn in two
Dead are raised to life
Finished the victory cry

Jesus came and stood among them and said “Peace be with you”

Easter

People sometimes ask us, why it is called Good Friday when you consider the suffering of the Lord Jesus Christ. In response we can explain that this was all part of the Plan of God that one who was without sin would have to take the sin of this world and become a once for all sacrifice. The Son of God had to go to that cross and take the punishment that we were due. The mercy of God is so wonderful in that Jesus Christ became our substitute and what we should have been punished for, He lovingly and obediently endured.

Let us this Easter time give God thanks for sending His Son to the world and for the Lord Jesus for going to the cross and bearing our sin. We look forward to the day when we will be able to look on our victorious Saviour.

6:30 Club

Another session of 6.30 Club finished in March. Attendance during the year was between 10 and 20 and the children regularly enjoyed games, quizzes, singing and stories arranged by the leaders. Stories taught over the year included Daniel, Paul, Moses, Joshua and Jesus. The memory verses were well remembered by the children. 6.30 club will once again restart in September 2010.
